UPDATE — Drudge is now reporting at The Drudge Report that NBC News’ Managing Editor and “Nightly News” Anchor Brian Williams has been suspended without pay for six months while the company continues to investigate concerns he is a serial liar.
Drudge published an internal email from NBC executives that said Williams had not held up to its standards for truthfulness. It also states that weekend anchor and current stand-in Lester Holt will continue to sit in the much-coveted VOG chair.
Earlier today, Drudge reported that “Today Show” co-host Savannah Guthrie is now the lady-in-waiting for the NBC Nightly News VOG position. Drudge, quoting anonymous NBC sources, said she was the new favorite to take over the VOG chair. Holt is also considered a contender for the job.
