I recently wrote a guest column in the Quad-City Times about a bill I helped introduce that would permanently ban former Members of Congress from ever becoming lobbyists. In light of the recent scandal involving a former Speaker of the House, now is the time for Congress to act in order to begin restoring the American people’s trust in their legislators.
