Jeff Kaufmann’s Confederate battle flag meltdown as told by Dr. Strangelove

Dr. Strangelove

By The .Gif Shop Staff

The Gif Shop LogoDuring the Independence Day weekend festivities, a Marion County GOP Central Committee member — who also happens to be a member of Sons of Confederate Veterans — placed three Confederate battle flags (one for each of three Confederate veterans buried in Marion County) on his truck, which was later used to haul the Marion County Republicans float in parades in Pella and Pleasantville. It didn’t go over well with Republican Party of Iowa leadership.

Well, it didn’t go over well with RPI chairman Jeff Kaufmann.

In a meltdown of epic proportions, Kaufmann said he was “embarrassed” and “disgusted” by the display. “I am absolutely resolved that I will not tolerate this,” he added (if you haven’t yet seen the full video, click here).

So, The .Gif Shop staff went to work. And, since we’re once again talking about the “cold war” that is deeply dividing the RPI, they figured Stanley Kubrick’s classic “Dr. Strangelove” would be the perfect medium.
