Now that the first funnel deadline has passed for the 2015 session of the Iowa General Assembly, the number of new bills being created will slow down substantially. The bill count this session now stands at 1,598.

Most of the new bills created this week were committee bills, successor bills to bills that have been approved by at least one committee and can now be considered for passage in their respective chambers In all, 166 committee bills were approved in the past week – 89 in the House and 77 in the Senate – bringing the total number of committee bills to 390 this session.

So far this session, there have been eight “enrolled bills” – those that have been approved by both chambers. All of them have been signed by Gov. Branstad. You can see the complete list of those bills by clicking here.
