This month, I kicked off my Coffee with Your Congressman tour across Iowa’s Second District! I’ve met with constituents from DeWitt to Sigourney to Wapello and more, and am excited to continue hearing directly from people like you about what’s most important to you. Over the next month I’ll be coming to Newton, Knoxville, Oskaloosa, and Ottumwa. I plan to stop in every one of the 24 counties I am proud to represent, so check your local newspaper for more details about a Coffee with Your Congressman meeting near you.
I also wanted to let you know that I am pleased that the Make It At Home Act, which I helped introduce, was included in the House-passed Fiscal Year 2016 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The Make It At Home Act would boost economic growth in the Quad Cities by requiring the Department of Defense to buy equipment from American arsenals or depots instead of foreign companies. Please know that I will continue to fight for local businesses and workers as the NDAA moves forward in Congress.
