At 1o a.m. Iowa time, U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst will take part in a press conference with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and U.S. Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) during which they will be discussing trade, the importance of exports to American small businesses, and the need for Trade Promotion Authority.

The senators will be joined by small business owners from Ohio, Wisconsin and Kentucky. They include:

Howard Ice, CEO of Ice Industries (Sylvania, OH)
   Ice Industries exports 25 percent of their “products to other countries, and supply products to six Fortune 50 companies that also export.”
•   Ice provides world-class stamping, fabrication, machining, welding and assembly solutions to clients who have problems with quality and delivery in their supply base. Ice currently exports on its own and also supplies Cummins.

Doug Wolf, Partner of Wolf L&G Farms LLC  (Lancaster, WI)
   Wolf L&G is a 1,200-sow, farrow-to-finish unit that markets 24,000 hogs annually. It’s a third generation family-owned operation, run by Doug Wolf, along with his wife, son, and daughter-in-law.
•   The Wolf family farm includes a cow-calf herd, a feedlot, and 1,200 acres of corn, soybeans and alfalfa.

Chase Robins, Owner of Apex Motorsports Inc. (Shelbyville, KY)
   Apex Motorsports exports approximately 10 percent of its products.
•   In 2001, Chase was stationed at Fort Knox in Louisville, KY. After he was medically discharged, Chase and his business partner launched Apex Motorsports Inc. in January 2010 selling performance parts for vehicles.
