Is he in? Santorum plans ‘major announcement’ for May 27

Former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA), winner of the 2012 Iowa Caucus, has notified national media he plans to make a “major announcement” Wednesday, May 27, near his boyhood home.

The announcement fuels speculation that he will announce his intention to again seek the GOP presidential nomination. The event, planned for 4 p.m. Iowa time at Penn United Technologies in Cabot, PA.

In the lead-up to the announcement, Santorum has announced what is likely a three-day campaign swing through Iowa. In addition to the following events open to the public, he will be holding private meetings with concerned Iowans through his visit.

Saturday, May 16th

3 p.m.:      Senator Santorum will participate in the National Security Action Summit in Waukee, IA where he will address the threat of Radical Islam and Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Location: Point of Grace Church, 305 NE Dartmoor Drive, Waukee

5 p.m.:      Senator Santorum will address the Iowa Republican Party’s Annual Lincoln Dinner in Des Moines, IA where he will address the future of the Republican Party. Location: Iowa Events Center, 730 3rd Street, Des Moines

Sunday, May 17th

1:30 p.m.:     Senator Santorum will address the Pachyderm Club in Marshalltown. Location: Legends Bar and Restaurant, 2902 Center Street, Marshalltown

4 p.m.:      Senator Santorum will visit Quircks Grill and Bar in Ames for a retail-style event. Location: Quircks Grill & Bar, 835 6th Street, Ste 3, Nevada

Monday, May 18th

9:30 a.m.:      Senator Santorum will visit Maid Rite in Webster City for a retail-style event. Location: Maid Rite, 409 Closz Drive, Webster City

12:30 p.m.:    Senator Santorum will hold a townhall meeting at the Pizza Ranch in Mason City. Location: Pizza Ranch, 1617 Monroe, Mason City

3 p.m.:      Senator Santorum will visit Duos in Waverly for a retail-style event. Location: Duos, 805 West Bremer Avenue, Waverly

6 p.m.:      Senator Santorum will participate in the Iowa FAMiLY Leader’s Northeast Iowa Presidential Lecture Series in Cedar Falls. Location: Cedar Falls High School, 1015 Division Street, Cedar Falls
