House debates HHS funding

For more than four hours Wednesday, the Iowa House of Representatives debated the health and human services appropriations bill for the next two fiscal years. And after working through 15 amendments — most of them amendments to the original House Republicans’ amendment — Senate File 505 was adopted on a party-line vote, 56-40.

Meanwhile, over in the Senate, the conferees for House File 635 — the transportation omnibus bill — were appointed.
