Friday, U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) will return to Iowa to discuss tax reform as part of an event being held in West Des Moines. LWBJ, one of the largest Certified Public Accountant firms in the country, will be hosting the event, which begins at 1:30 p.m. at the company’s West Des Moines headquarters, located at 4200 University Ave.

In addition to Grassley, Jim Lyons, the senior tax counsel for the tax-writing Senate Finance Committee, which Senator Grassley formerly chaired and where he remains a senior member, and Chris Conlin, Grassley’s tax counsel, will speak. During the forum, which is open only to invitees, they will be seeking input from tax professionals and individuals about ideas to modify the Internal Revenue Code with the goal of simplifying federal income taxation and making it equitable and fair.

While the primary focus of the forum will be on taxation of individuals, the discussion also will include business, international and other areas of taxation. Following the Tax Reform Forum, the media is invited to a news conference to hear ideas presented at the forum and learn more about overall comprehensive tax reform.
